The Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center offers multidisciplinary teams to provide lifetime care and coordination of medical and equipment needs for veterans with spinal cord injuries. Craig Hospital launched the Craig Hospital Nursing Advice Line in order to address the many health-related calls regarding spinal cord injury they were receiving from individuals with a spinal cord injury and their families. A person might call when:
- A non-emergency medical question arises
- An individual experiences a change which they question is "normal"
- A new caregiver or health care provider needs educational materials to help understand the injury
